Bryant Henderson
April 1999

This is Bryant Henderson at sundown at historic Fort McHenry in Baltimore at the fort's annual Civil War Weekend in April 2000. Our unit's Federal organization, the National Regiment, has provided the infantry for the event for several years.

After attending Jay Ungar and Molly Mason's Northern Week Fiddle and Dance Camp at Ashokan, NY, in 2002, Bryant decided to encourage several of his reenactor buddies to meet on a regular basis to practice.

"I had always complained that I had no musicians who lived close by with whom I could play. So, we just decided that we would have to create something for ourselves. After playing every other week or so for about three months, we met Troy Parker at Bentonville, and we knew immediately we had the makings of a band.

Since then, our numbers have doubled with other kindred spirits who just wanted to be a part of what we were doing. With real-life issues like jobs and families, we don't get together nearly as much as we'd like, but we make the most of it when we do."
